Delete Your Account
How to request deletion of your BowlingOps account and associated data
Last updated: 2026-07-29
About this page
This page explains how to request deletion of your account and associated data for BowlingOps, the app published by BowlingOps and also available on the web at cybowling.net. It applies to the mobile app and the website alike — they share one account.
How to request deletion from the app
- Open the BowlingOps app and sign in to your account.
- Tap Profile in the bottom navigation bar.
- Select the Security tab.
- Scroll to Delete my account.
- Enter your password, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete my account.
The same steps work on the website: sign in at cybowling.net, go to Profile → Security, and use the Delete my account section.
If you cannot sign in
Email bowlingops@gmail.com from the address registered to your account and ask for your account to be deleted. We will verify that you own the address before acting on the request.
What happens after you request deletion
- Immediately. Your account is closed and you are signed out on every device. You can no longer sign in, and all notifications stop. Nothing is erased yet.
- For the next 30 days. Your data is held, unused, so you can change your mind. We email you a link that restores your account. An administrator can also restore it for you if you contact support.
- After 30 days. Your data is permanently deleted as described below. This cannot be undone, and we cannot recover the account afterwards.
What data is deleted
- Your sign-in credentials and account record
- Your name, email address, phone numbers and postal address
- Your profile picture
- Your language, theme and other account preferences
- Your in-app notifications and registered push notification devices
- Your saved sessions and sign-in tokens
- The players and teams you follow, and your follow and digest preferences
- Your subscription record
- Your newsletter subscription
- Any pending invitations addressed to you
What data is kept, and for how long
Two categories of data survive the deletion. Neither can be used to sign in as you, and neither continues to identify you.
- Order and payment records — kept, with your identity removed. If you ever purchased a subscription, the order and payment rows are retained because tax and accounting law requires us to keep financial records. Your customer identifier is replaced with an anonymous placeholder at the moment of deletion, so the records no longer point to you. These are retained for the statutory accounting retention period applicable in Cyprus.
- Competition records — kept, because they are not yours to delete. Tournament results, match records, scores, player profiles and team rosters belong to the tournament organisers who created them, not to your user account. They are not linked to your login and are not removed when you delete it. If you believe a player profile contains your personal data and should be corrected or removed, contact the organising body directly, or email us at bowlingops@gmail.com and we will pass the request on.
Security and audit logs that record system activity are retained for their normal retention period and then discarded on the usual schedule.
